Position: Digital Marketing Product Manager

Status: Full-time, 40 hours/week

Salary: $30-$33/hr

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm

Location: Spokane, WA – Hybrid

About this role: As a Digital Marketing Product Manager, you’ll blend strategy and hands-on execution—improving mobile experiences, managing push and SMS channels, optimizing digital ad placements, and exploring AI-powered tools that better serve both readers and local advertisers.

What you'll do: In this role, you’ll serve as a key connector between the Advertising and Audience teams, helping drive The Spokesman-Review’s digital communication, engagement, and monetization strategies across multiple platforms. You’ll combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution to ensure our digital tools, campaigns, and communication channels support both subscriber growth and advertiser success.

Cross-Department Digital Strategy: Act as the operational link between Advertising and Audience, ensuring digital products, communication channels, and campaigns support both subscriber and advertiser priorities. Maintain a unified communication calendar across SMS, push alerts, newsletters, print promotions, and marketing collateral.
Direct Channel Management: Manage and optimize SMS and mobile push alert platforms—including campaign creation, segmentation, testing, frequency management, and compliance—using tools such as SubText and OneSignal.
Digital Advertising & Revenue Support: Collaborate with the Advertising team to identify digital ad opportunities across apps, websites, newsletters, and other owned channels. Assist in evaluating and onboarding new revenue partnerships and AI-driven creative tools that support campaign development and advertiser solutions.
Product Experience & Digital Initiatives: Evaluate and improve the mobile app experience using stakeholder feedback, analytics, and industry best practices. Lead or coordinate digital projects that enhance user experience, reduce friction, and support revenue opportunities.
Subscriber Growth & Engagement: Support Audience Marketing and Home Delivery teams by developing targeted campaigns and digital communications that drive subscriber acquisition, retention, and engagement.
Analytics & Reporting: Use engagement and campaign analytics to identify trends, measure impact, and provide insights that guide Audience and Advertising strategies. Communicate project updates, opportunities, and performance to leadership.
Vendor & Project Coordination: Serve as a liaison between internal teams—including Marketing, IT, and Home Delivery—and external digital vendors to ensure effective integration, implementation, and project execution.

What you'll contribute to our team:

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2-4 years prior experience in a product owner, product manager, or project management role
