Position Title: Marketing Specialist

 

Position Status: Full-time, non-exempt

 

Position Pay: $19.50- $20.50 Per/ Hr.

 

About Us:  KHQ is the Inland Northwest’s leader in local news, weather and sports coverage on television and digital platforms! Affiliated with the NBC network, KHQ is the flagship station of KHQ Incorporated and Cowles Montana Media.

Summary: KHQ, WA., is looking for a marketing specialist to join an incredible team of 15+ specialists who work collaboratively across our company, on projects ranging from internal, corporate, social, community and client initiatives. This role allows creativity to flourish as you conceptualize and implement promotional ideas that create engagement for our customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Vision and passion for product creation
• Writing, photography, and editing skills
• Understand the nuances between content for linear, digital, and social
• Understanding of incorporate horizontal and vertical video production
• Possess digital writing skills including blogging search engine optimization
• Availability to work with the team on community engagement, including live events
• Willingness to stay up to date on emerging technologies.
• Other Duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Prior hands-on production experience required
• Promotions experience preferred
• Hands-on camera experience required
• Prior television station production experience preferred
• Strong computer background and a fluency with Adobe Premiere, Adobe After-Effects, Photoshop, macOS, canva, capcut video editor, and YouTube “preferred” broadcast HD cameras, lighting and sound, script writing, shooting.

  Requirements

• Must possess a valid driver's license with good driving record
• Ability to be insured under company insurance
• Personal auto insurance must meet minimum state requirements
• Willingness to work outside in the elements for events/productions
• Ability to lift and carry camera and lighting equipment
• The ideal candidate must be organized and able to work as a team player as well as independently, under tight deadlines

Physical Demands

• Standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving during shoots and events
• Driving to various shoot location
• Possible long or irregular hours during productions or events

 Work Environment 

• Both indoors in a studio setting and outdoors shooting in various weather conditions. 
• Possible exposure to moderate or high noise levels both indoors and outdoors.  
• A fast-paced, deadline-driven newsroom environment.
