Position Title: Master Control Operator

Position Status: Full-time, non-exempt

Position Pay: $17.25 Per/Hr.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitors on air and cable broadcast signals
• Records programs from satellite feeds for later use
• Sets up and airs programs and program break per program log
• Ingest media from various sources for air or office use
• Monitors and controls transmitter output
• Maintains transmitter logs and discrepancy logs
• Assists with traffic and on-air promotion
• Other Duties as Assigned

Education and Experience

• College Degree Preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Broadcast experience is preferred
• Willing to train the right candidate

Qualifications

• Applicants to have knowledge of broadcast equipment and procedures preferred
• Computer experience is required
• Must be available to work flexible hours including holidays, nights, weekends, and overnights
• Must also be a team player, work well under pressure
• Be able to multi-task, have attention to detail
• A positive attitude and a work ethic based on honesty and integrity.

• Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing to communicate complex information clearly.

  Reasoning Abilities

• Strong critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and report problems

  Physical Demands

• Sitting for extended periods of eight (8) to ten (10) hours per day
• Manual dexterity in operating equipment and computers
• Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Work Environment

• Indoors in a newsroom control room setting
• Exposure to medium or loud noises occasionally
